What is the value of market research? How do we use it?

Some of the most common problems:

  1. getting bogged down in the “data” instead of focusing on the most important results
  2. missing or not hearing the answers to the questions that were not asked
  3. being so focused on our own agenda that we forget to listen

Moving towards better solutions:

  1. pay attention to the one or two results that really jump out at you
  2. listen well enough to hear the surprises
  3. respond to the results - do something

Item 3 bears repeating: Take action on the results.

When we ask questions, we should be ready to hear the answers. Whatever they are.
